Pray Construction was hired to build the Radiation Oncology Suite for CAMC’s Cancer Center. Pray’s experience with and success in building linear accelerators in West Virginia made us a perfect choice. The $3.5 million project included three linear accelerator vaults pictured above. Each vault had concrete walls, floors and ceilings from four to seven feet thick. A 16,000 square foot interior build out included a reception and lobby area, six examination rooms, and a CT scan area.

Dennis and Drew Lewis dreamed and planned for years to provide end of life care to those in need in their area. After years of planning and designing their dream came alive and Dignity Hospice House is open and providing a much needed service in the five-county service area. Pray Construction renovated the existing building and added a 10,000 square foot facility with eight patient rooms, a large family gathering room, commercial kitchen, family kitchen area and a laundry room. It has all the support rooms for clinical staff, administrative staff as well as a pharmacy, medical equipment and a home health division. A beautiful memorial garden was added behind the facility, providing a space to reflect.

Dr. David Judy’s rapidly growing business created a need to build the West Virginia Medical Center. The prominent structure on McCorkle Avenue in South Charleston has a modern look with a stone and glass façade. Dr. Judy’s WV Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center will occupy the second floor, leaving a gorgeous lobby, common space and a warm, lit shell for future tenant build out on the first floor. Dr. Judy is the only fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon in the area. The building will be completed at the end of January of 2018.

Dr. Ashley Patnoe needed to expand her business and selected Pray Construction Company as her design builder. Pray collaborated with a West Coast architect specializing in dental offices, and a local firm, to create an exceptional office. The building is filled with unique features like the LED ribbon lighting in circular ceiling features, raised alphabet walls, game stations and ceiling mounted TVs over patient chairs; all intended to make children feel at ease. The practice includes three dental chairs, three quiet rooms with individual chairs, and a beautiful kitchen. When you walk in the large, bright waiting room you know something special is happening at Charleston Pediatric Dentistry.

The large, whimsical elephant that adorns the entrance to Huntington Pediatric Dentistry gives you an idea of what is inside.  Pray Construction teamed up with Silling Architect to complete this fun and unique design-build project. The new 10,000 square foot building is full of fun, interactive features geared toward kids of all ages. The office offers state-of-the-art pediatric dental and orthodontic care to the community in a dynamic, playful setting. The large welcoming lobby with an interactive play area feels more like a play land than a dreaded trip to the dentist. The building has a hygiene bay, treatment bay, quiet rooms, private offices, consulting rooms, and staff area.

Based on Pray’s extensive experience in and success with medical office buildings, Pulmonary Associates selected Pray Construction to be their design-builder. Their new 21,000 square foot, two story building is located near Thomas Memorial Hospital and has an architectural style consistent with the hospital campus. The medical office building has 16 exam rooms, a nurses’ station, a spacious waiting area, a new sleeping lab, imaging facilities and a pulmonary rehabilitation practice.  The owners were thrilled to have had their spatial and budget goals met.

River View Medical Plaza is a new 40,000 square foot, 4 story building located on the banks of the Kanawha River. A group of regional cardiologists hired Pray Construction to create a building designed to enhance the Thomas Memorial Hospital campus. The first-floor spaces are primarily dedicated to a cardio-rehabilitation center with a heart-healthy café space and expansive windows with views to the river. The owner’s medical offices occupy the entire second floor and are arranged in a highly efficient, care-centered grouping of exam rooms and medical workstations, with specialized spaces and equipment for testing and imaging located at the second-floor perimeter. The upper two floors of the building are developed for medical or professional office space and are served by two large-format medical elevators, exit stairs, and public restrooms.

Thomas Memorial Hospital awarded the development of their South Charleston Outpatient Imaging Center to Pray Construction Company. The project consists of a 10,000 square-foot, one-story steel framed building with EIFS and glass exterior finishes. Thomas Memorial Hospital offers a variety of services from routine x-rays to CT scans with advanced, digital equipment, experienced technologists, and a friendly atmosphere.

When the University of Charleston received federal funding to build a School of Pharmacy, they turned to Pray Construction. We developed a strong relationship on the Brotherton Hall project, and have continued to serve The University over the years. The Pharmacy School is a three-story, 45,000 square-foot building consisting of two 92-seat tiered classrooms, one 40-seat general-purpose classroom, additional smaller classrooms, administrative and faculty offices, student lounges and rooms for student group projects. Unique to a pharmacy school, the building has both wet and dry labs, computer labs, lab support spaces, a model pharmacy and a drug information area.

Over a five-year period, Triad Hospital’s Greenbrier Valley Medical Center partnered with Pray Construction Company to provide multiple services totaling $21 million in additions and renovations. This series of projects involved a new ICU, expansion of the ER, new entrance and lobby, pharmacy, and physician dining area, as well as the addition of a Cath Lab and an MRI. The final phase was the addition of a 9,000 square-foot building with three operating rooms and a 4,000 square-foot addition for their waiting and admitting areas.  Upgrades included a nurses’ station, nursery, labor and delivery rooms and patient rooms. Major renovations to the exterior were also completed on time and on budget.

In just seven months HospiceCare of the Kanawha Valley went from ground breaking to ribbon cutting on their 18,000 SF administrative office building. HospiceCare selected Pray Construction as their design-builders and we teamed with Bastian and Harris architects to deliver their project on time and on budget. Great care was also taken to incorporate as many green design elements as possible and we donated all the leftover materials to the ReStore who uses profits from these sales to fund Habitat for Humanity Houses.

Pray Construction Company won this competitively bid project for CAMC Teays Valley Hospital to expand their Central Utility Plant.  The project includes a 2,500 – square foot addition which houses utilities for their future hospital expansions.  The building is designed for a future second floor to house backup generators and mechanical equipment.  The project required careful scheduling with the hospital to coordinate service outages. New electrical and mechanical systems were connected while maintaining continuous hospital functions. CAMC has used Pray Construction for many other jobs including:
