University of Charleston
Robert C. Byrd School of Pharmacy
The federally funded University of Charleston’s newly completed School of Pharmacy required a three story, 45,000 square-foot building located on campus. In order to complete this building, numerous single-story houses had to be demolished, as well as modifications to an existing adjacent parking lot. The new building is located southeast of Riggleman Hall, a landmark focal point of the campus. Pray provided significant renovations to this project as well. The building consists of two 92-seat tiered classrooms, one 40-seat general-purpose classroom, classrooms, administrative and faculty offices, student lounges and rooms for student group projects. Unique to a pharmacy school, the building has both wet and dry labs and computer labs, lab support spaces, a model pharmacy and a drug information area.
